random thoughts of a disgruntled NFL fan, week 1

I don't know if you were aware of this, but Kerry Collins is one of the few NFL quarterbacks not sired by Archie Manning.
Archie is a smart man. He knew that giving them all the surname of Manning would quickly lead to a "Manning fatigue" and therefore chose names like Grossman, Roethlisberger, and Leftwich for some of them.
Only time will tell if Peyton will surpass Dan Marino as the greatest QB to never win a superbowl, but he's certainly already giving the former Dolphins QB a run for his money in the area of selling crap on TV. However, I have no doubt that Archie, like any good father, will still love them both when it is over.
Methinks the Titans would do well to play in Ravens uniforms the rest of the year.
To be honest, I stopped watching the Titans game around the time someone got word to the sideline that yesterday's contest was not a preseason game. It was a rather embarrassing mistake, though it does explain why they were only going half-speed and avoided breaking a sweat for three quarters.
Has anyone ever studied the effect of hair transplants on coaching decisions?

I was busy yesterday and gave my tickets to l'il sis. She left before the first Titan score as well.

According to Simpson's Treehouse lor, when one obtains a hair transplants one will acquire the personality traits and relative evil-ness of the previous owner. If the previous owner went to UT...the result would be the loss of a few IQ points and an unexplained desire to hear 'Rock Top' over and over and over...

Perhaps they accepted donations from the Kentucky Wildcat coaching staff to weave Fisher's new pelt together.

All of the best Titans players are already in Ravens uniforms! I stole that from my wife.

They're also in Chargers uniforms and Eagles uniforms, but oddly not any prison uniforms.

Seriously though - the Titans are horrible. Pacman Jones should make the all time grab ass squad hall of shame. Drew Bennett shouldn't even be on a practice squad let alone being a starter (he should be cut for all of the dropped balls, the motion penalties, and most egregious - not finishing a route leading to a Jets interception). No matter who starts at quarterback they won't do much when they have no weapons and no line.

At what point does the purging players due to the salary cap excuse stop working? Reese, Adams, or Fisher - it's potluck on who to blame.

Now maybe they'll right the ship and make me look like a fool. I sure hope so.

Exactly, Wally. Drew quitting on that pass was what really did it for me.

I will proudly support a losing team that gives it their all, but a team of millionaires exhibiting grab-assitude and a lack of effort is unacceptable.

I think Jevon may miss Tennessee as well, Muffy. His Titans years were much more productive than his time in Philly.
