Happy birthday to Harry Dean Stanton. This often overlooked actor and singer-songwriter turns 79 today at a bar somewhere in California. I've always thought of him as a Robert Mitchum that wouldn't kick my ass if I ever met him. You should drink to him today.

He is going to be in David Lynch's new movie Inland Empire.
I thought Harry Dean Stanton was MacGuyver or the guy from Night Court...
I thought Stanton was great in Lynch's "The Straight Story" (even though it was just a 2 minute performance). Stanton has done well in Lynch films, though I do wish he had more screen time.
