The original bass player for the eighties Christian metal band "Stryper" is now working at the Guitar Center here in Nashville. Welcome him to music city.
And now for some related business:
Dear Stryper,
I play bass. I rock. I love me some Jesus.
Give me a call.
Sincerely,
Rex.
P.S. - I will need to be provided with a heavy metal wig.

I was much more of a Petra man back in the day.
you know, i always suspected that guitar center sucked...
... now I know they do...
tha b.
If you ever got thumped in the head with one of those striped Bible's those guys used to threw out your head probably still hurts.
Remember Isaiah 53:5.
Lol, that is kinda sad. And yea, if I had to choose amongst Christian rock bands (kill me now) I would choose Petra too.
I would choose Stryper, but only because I don't remember what they sound like. My little sister had a Petra tape and wore that thing out.
But seeing formerly semi-famous people around town in customer service positions is one of the things I love about Nashville. I remember when Tiffany (yes, THE Tiffany) worked at the Pier 1 in Green Hills for about a year before moving back to LA.
Me, I was mostly about Steve Taylor. He's floating around here somewhere, too.
Does anyone remember Scarlet Red? They were along the same lines.
Whoa. Didn't know about the Tiffany thing. Must've been under a rock that year.
I think Tiffany was at Pier 1 in 1998. Her husband wanted to try writing country songs for about a year. I knew the assistant manager at Pier 1 at the time, and she said that Tiffany would talk about traveling all over the world without saying anything about her music career. She had put on a little weight and had a nose ring, but all her co-workers thought that she looked familiar. One day during their lunchbreak one of them went down to the Great Escape to check out all the photos in the used Tiffany CDs and was able to then confirm their suspicions. Tiffany didn't mind talking about it after that, she just never wanted to be the one to bring it up if someone didn't already know who she was.
Stryper's really not my style. As I Lay Dying, on the other hand... is an AWESOME Christian band!
