carl weathers and bunny

While the rest of us attended the game on Saturday, the beast you know as Carl Weathers remained back in my old room at Casa de Ma and Pa Camino with plenty of food and water, a television left on ESPN so that he could stay abreast of the day's college football, and a basket of stuffed animals provided by Ma Camino.
Here was how we found him when we returned around one in the morning.

Aw, wook at Caw Wevvers wif hims widdle baby bunny wabbit.
Yes, this is the very same dog who nearly ate an entire nest of actual baby rabbits just a month before. This stuffed rabbit obviously received better treatment, and I realize that it is due to its being comprised of cotton rather than meant, but I thought you should see the softer side of Carl Weathers.

I was gonna make some joke about how he was so cute that I'd be his bitch, but then I realized that since he was a dog that would actually be disgusting.

Yes he is, Auntee, and he is well aware of that fact.

Wow, Katherine. I don't know what to say about that, but I did explore any number of Amish jokes.

What kind of dog is Carl Weathers?

He looks like a spaniel

He is actually a brittany spaniel. Mrs. Camino read somewhere that the brittanies were recently taken out of the spaniel category and placed in with the hounds, but we have been unable to confirm that.

Wonder why they would do that? Dog show people must have even more uneventful lives than I.

Have you ever seen Best in Show? It is a very funny film, but it probably isn't too far off the mark.

When Mrs. Camino and I were looking for a dog we went through a ton of books about the different breeds and became quite learned on the subject. It really is fascinating. We'll probably go to the pound for any other dogs we get, but it was an interesting experience to go through all the traits of the breeds and check with all the different breeders and try to come up with the perfect match.
