The classic story is that Frank had renovations done to his Palm Springs pad in anticipation of Kennedy coming out for a visit. Kennedy's stooge/in-law Peter Lawford was given the unenviable task of informing Frank that JFK would be staying with Bing Crosby. Sinatra no longer considered that family to be a friend after that.
Interesting. I knew he had the falling out with the Kennedy Clan, but I had never heard about him switching political parties. He seemed to be quite the Democratic cheerleader early on in his career.
Ever hear the true story of the guys who kidnapped Sinatra's eldest son? I heard about it on NPR and later it became a movie entitled "Stealing Sinatra."
It was handled so terribly by the bumbling kidnappers you would not believe it was not a piece of comedic fiction.
I never saw the movie, but I did see an interview with one of the kidnappers years ago. It seems like everyone had a pretty good sense of humor about the whole thing--especially considering that it was a kidnapping and all.
Terrific blog. I search the internet everytime I get a moment to find blogs. Its better than cold iced tea and I have to visit it one more time! Search for my cash advance los angeles blog, it will leave you speechless.

Temporary Kennedy supporter. He supported him until Kennedy started distancing himself from Sinatra due to possible mob ties (which was never proven).
Frank didn't take it very well and eventually became a Republican.

Yeah...Peter Lawford didn't fair too well from that situation either.

Early on yes...later on no...and all due to the Kennedy rift.
